John D. Holschuh, Jr. joins Ohio State Bar Foundation Board
Columbus, OH (Jan. 7, 2015) –The new year brings with it a new board member for the Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) as John D. Holschuh, Jr., who was named the Ohio State Bar Association’s president-elect, begins his two-year term ex-officio. He will join an accomplished group of 20 legal professionals who are committed to promoting public understanding of the rule of law and improvements in the justice system.
As a Distinguished Life Fellow Associate, Holschuh has supported OSBF since 1999. In addition to his active OSBF membership, he is a past president of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Foundation. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and Fellow of the International Society of Barristers.
A partner in the Cincinnati firm, Santen & Hughes, LPA, Holschuh represents patients and their families in medical negligence and personal injury litigation. A member of the Order of Barristers, he has been cited with a Merit Award by the Ohio Legal Center Institute. He has also authored numerous articles and lectured on civil litigation. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of personal injury litigation for the past 15 years, and was recognized in Best Lawyers 2014 as a “Lawyer of the Year.” He has also been recognized as one of the “top 100” Ohio Super Lawyers, and as one of the “top 50” Cincinnati Super Lawyers. In addition, Cincinnati Magazine recognized him as one of “The Best of the Best” Leading Lawyers in 2011 in the area of malpractice. Holschuh, who has practiced in the area of medical negligence for more than 33 years, has tried cases throughout Ohio and Kentucky.
Holschuh earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami University at Oxford in 1977 and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1980.
