Andrew C. Storar named president of OSBF
Columbus OH (Jan. 6, 2017)—The new year brings with it a new president for the Ohio State Bar Foundation as Distinguished Life Fellow Andrew C. Storar begins his one-year term. He will lead an accomplished group of more than 1,000 legal professionals who are committed to promoting public understanding of the law and making improvements in the justice system.
Storar’s interest in the law began back in college. “I had some extraordinary professors in the political science department at Wright State who provoked enough thoughtfulness regarding the status of society that I wanted to get involved,” he said. “One of the simplest ways to accomplish that was to obtain a law degree. I have never regretted that decision.”
Today, Storar is the President of Pickrel, Schaeffer and Ebeling and has over 30 years of experience representing entrepreneurs, individuals and businesses in a wide range of industries. His experience spans an array of legal issues from complex commercial litigation, appropriations litigation and contract enforcement, to premises liability and zoning challenges.
As a person who continuously looks for ways to help his community, he said, “We have to accept that entirely too many people in the country are living at or below the poverty level. I really believe that providing assistance to those less fortunate is not just a feel good thing, it’s a duty.”
Outside the office, Storar has served many non-profit and charitable organizations. He is a past president of the Kettering Education Foundation, a board member for Places, Inc. and board member of YMCA Camp Kern.
He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Wright State University and his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Dayton School of Law.
