Vargo McFarland honored for community service by Ohio State Bar Foundation
Columbus, OH (October 7, 2016)— Rose K. Vargo McFarland received the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s District 8 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 & Under on September 20, 2016.
Vargo McFarland, an attorney with Steely Law Office in Circleville, focuses her practices on family law, estate planning, probate law and personal injury claims. When speaking about her profession, she says, “Being a lawyer is being a teacher, especially in my practice of family law. Trying to reach a resolution that is best for both parties and the children is very much a teachable moment that can make a difference in all of their lives.”
When not in the office, Vargo McFarland has donated much of her volunteer time to the Pickaway County Community Foundation. She knows developing local parks, arts and history, and educational opportunities supported by the Community Foundation make a positive impact on her community.
“My parents blessed me with the belief that community is built on local culture and the like-minded people who work together to till the ‘local crops’ for future generations,” said Vargo McFarland.
In the past, Vargo McFarland has served as Chair of the Teays Valley Educational Foundation, President of the Ashville Kiwanis and as a board member of the Haven House for battered women.
