Dorian Slaybod honored for community service by Ohio State Bar Foundation
Columbus, OH (October 6, 2016)— Dorian Slaybod received the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s District 4 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 & Under on September 12, 2016.
As the Director of Legal Services for the Domestic Relations Division of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, Slaybod dedicates his time to helping others both in and out of the office.
He strives to make a positive in the least fortunate in his community, saying, “Through my adult lens, I saw the city as a great place to live. But I also saw some of the long-standing needs of people who are just as unique but who don’t always get to share in the city’s growth. Toledo can be a great place for all of us if we don’t neglect those who have the least among us.”
When not working, he serves as a board member for the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio and Adelante, The Latino and Community Resource Center. He also serves on the Emerging Leaders Council for Advocates for Basic Legal Equality / Legal Aid of Western Ohio and is a board member with the Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo’s Department of Jewish Programs.
Slaybod received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University, his Master of Laws degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville and his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
