Melissa Kidder honored for community service

Columbus, OH (September 23, 2016)—Melissa L. Kidder of Findlay Ohio received the District 16 Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 & Under on Thursday, September 22, 2016.

Kidder, the Director of Legal Research and Writing at Ohio Northern University, gives back to her community in many ways. From serving as president of the Hancock County Humane Society Foundation Board to being elected to the Hancock County Education Foundation, she strives to make positive impact for those around her.

Last year, Kidder was active in Findlay Young Professionals and served on the Lead Committee. In the past, she has also volunteered with the Open Arms, a domestic violence and rape crisis service center, where she served on the Walk-A-Mile Committee.

Kidder’s talents go beyond her legal and leadership skills. With a love of the arts, she recently concluded her term as president of the Bowling Green Black Swamp Players community theater organization, having served as a volunteer and participant of the theater group since she was around 13 years old.

Professionally, Kidder has been a member since the Findlay-Hancock County Bar Association since 2008 and has volunteered with its Law Day Committee since 2009, having served as committee chair for five of those years. In addition, Kidder is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.

Kidder received her bachelor’s and law degrees from Ohio Northern University.
