Higgins recognized for outstanding community service
Columbus, OH (November 19, 2015) – Danielle A. Higgins received the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under for District 14 on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the McKinley Grand Hotel in Canton, OH.
Higgins is a corporate attorney for Day Ketterer LTD. in their Canton office. She specializes in business transactions, securities and counseling.
She is the vice president and board member of the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health organization and is the chair of their Fund Development Committee. Higgins aids in fundraising and event planning. She is the vice president and board member of the Canton Ballet and secretary and board member of the Canton Montessori School. She is also a board member on the Dr. Lawrence OJ Onuora Memorial Hospital Foundation. This organization’s mission is to plan, design and build a new hospital in Enegu, Nigeria.
Higgins is active in the American Bar Association’s Mergers and Acquisitions Subcommittee. She is a member of the Ohio Bar Association’s Corporate Counsel Section and Healthcare Law Committee and the Stark County Bar Association.
Earning her Bachelor of Arts, she graduated Cornell University in 2005. She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 20011.
About the Award
The Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under is presented to attorneys, 40 years of age or younger, who contribute substantial time and effort in service to a local social service or to a local civil, artistic or cultural organization. The service must be outside the recipients’ practice of law and given without compensation. Emphasis is placed on current service. Recipients represent the ideals of the legal profession and, by example, are a credit to the profession.
