Cunningham honored for community service

Columbus, OH (October 15, 2015) – Mariah M. Cunningham received the Ohio State Bar Association Foundation’s Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under for District 16 on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at The Grand Plaza Banquet Hall in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

Currently, Cunningham is an assistant prosecutor at the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. She specializes in representing juveniles who are abused, neglected or dependent. She previously acted as a guardian ad litem for domestic relations and juvenile cases.

After her daughter’s heartbreaking leukemia diagnosis, Cunningham started her journey into the realm of fundraising. She did not simply collect donations for her own daughter, but also for children suffering throughout the nation. She conducted blood drives and fundraising events and, later, coordinated with the Red Cross through those events. Cunningham supports her daughter through her illness and position as the face of a national campaign for Nationwide Children’s Hospital with the Justice Brothers’ stores to benefit children suffering with leukemia. Cunningham helps raise awareness, money and support for children with leukemia.

Cunningham earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology, magna cum laude, from Bowling Green State University. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in 2003.
