Judge Amy Corrigall Jones honored by law foundation for community service

Columbus, OH (April 1, 2015) – Judge Amy Corrigall Jones received the Ohio State Bar Foundation’s Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 & Under for District 11 on Monday March 23 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.

Judge Jones currently sits on the Summit County Common Pleas Court bench.  When not in court, she donates her time to Akron’s Dapper Dan charity which supports youth through athletics. She also spends many hours coaching basketball in a youth league for boys and girls. In addition, she volunteers as a coach for a mock trial team at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. “My dad taught me to set goals and never worry about how high they are,” said Judge Jones. “He modeled for me what it means to be driven and focused, but to know when to put other people’s needs before my own.”

Judge Jones is an active board member of the Public Defender’s Commission. She is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association and the League of Women Voters.

Judge Jones graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law.
